For those of you who might not know already, Super Mushroom Kingdom Wars is a forum-war game similar to Pikmin Wars, and a good number of members here started out there (and some members from PW have migrated on over there and liked it).
SMKW is focused on the Mario-universe, though we do have a sub-game, The Wars, that allows people to use anything from anywhere as an army. There are five "classes" including armies. Bandit Groups, a group of five powerful fighters that are effective for raids and performing specific roles in battles; Mercenaries, a super-powered fighter for hire whose strength comes from his versatility; Mechanics, pilots of enormous War Machines capable of causing mass destruction; and Merchants, two or three powerful fighters whose strength is dependent on their income.
While, from my understanding, Pikmin Wars is focused on strategy surrounding everything your army does, from mining for fish to getting shiny rocks (again, not so sure what you people do here), SMKW is focused on grand-slamming, head-exploding epics of battles. Meaning that logs don't take quite as long and there isn't as much forethought necessary, but it also might be a little bit shallower in depth for people who loved that kind of thing.
To achieve our ends of making redonkulous blockbuster battles, armies are allowed to create damn near anything, and I mean ANYTHING.
There's little that isn't approved, and the whole game is pretty lighthearted. There's a new version starting up soon, too, so check around and see if there's something you like, maybe give it a go.
Who knows? With luck, you guys might be so repulsed that you'll try even harder to get Pikmin Wars back up again! Or maybe my two-year plan to absolutely ruin this site and convert everyone to SMKW will finally come to fruition...
