As it's the Chinese New Year vacation, I get a vacation for 30 days, according to national law. As my home is in Chengdu, I flew there by plane (Trains take forever, and the rails aren't 100% safe after the earthquake.). Well, the flight was terrible, we met so much turbulence that we had to go back to Beijing after flying for 2 hours (It takes 3 hours to get there.) Well, I just went to a hotel and spent the night there, and I spent about 200 yuan, quite a lot. The next day, the turbulence was still enormous, but we got there. But I am just so unlucky to get there right as a level 4 earthquake struck (Earthquakes come about once every 3 weeks now.) Well, my luggage got smashed, and I nearly fell down the stairs. Anyways, any things of note happen to you guys?

Well, uh, I kinda just sat around the house. Pretty exciting, huh? Well, we probably took about 3 or 4 earthquakes without even noticing them. Level 1s and 2s happen almost every day.

Very sorry to hear that, Petrosian. At times like that, I've found it's helpful to look at what you do have and rank it over your problems. For example, at least you have a hotel to stay in, and money to spend. But that must suck, I unfortunately can't relate as I've never been in an earthquake.

I hit turbulence in a plane once when I was like 7, and I thought it was pretty fun. >.> And, well, my brother chopped part of his finger off, and had to go to the emergency room.

Heck, the earthquake was okay, since I've not felt one since I was in Los Angeles 9 years ago, and I thought it was pretty fun. Anyways, anything interesting happen to you these days?

So lucky! New Year haven't fallen on the weekends for years, so there's been little celebration.

You know, if we were discussing this in public, this'd be highly impolite, but in this atmosphere it seems like black humor.
