A little late here. It's not even the real spore. It's a spinoff called Spore: Creatures.

Its not really a spin off. The only differences are:
1) Its aimed at being cute 2) Your creature is 2-d (the enviornment is 3-d) 3) There are preset creatures (you can download others via wifi) 4) There is a set of objectives 5) You can change your creature whenever you want 6) No classes ("class" being cell, creature, tribe, and space) 7) Creativity is limited, there is certain terrain (i.e. lava) that require certain parts to cross 8) You can buy parts and cheats with "badge points"
Its pretty fun, though.

Badge Points? Ya mean from Paper Mario? There's things called "planet tokens" that if you find you get them. 10 per planet. they're hidden and if you collect all 10 you get a badge, which is basically and award. You get them from other things to. YOu get points from killing/befriending other creatures and after a while they accumulate.

How do you travel from planet to planet? I thought this was basically just the Creature Phase.

You find space ship parts that fall of the antagonist's ships and assemble them.
