Water Woods (Custom Pikmin Level)
Map: img74.imageshack.us/img74/6959/thetreeclearingpikminmaig5.png
Notes
-When a treasure mark circles a monster, it means a monster holds a treasure.
-Enemies may be bigger on the map than they really are. For example, the wogpoles aren't bigger than the adult Bulborbs.
-The darker the terrain is, the higher it is from the ground (light green terrain)
Guide:
---
Treasure #1
Transparent Container (A Glass)
Worth: 400p.
Weight: 30 pikmin
Location: Inside the Orange Bulborb, on the level's west.
Olimar's notes:
Today, we went in a forest area with loads of water pools. This area was filled with some underwater creatures, along with a few elements I am familiar with, such as smaller bomb-rocks that yellow pikmin could get. When there, we had to be careful so no pikmin would drown. I decided to name this place the Water Woods, because Water-filled woods wouldn't sound too good.
Sales Pitch:
Do you want a container in which you can see what you put for easier object retrieving? Then buy this novelty treasure!
Recommended Pikmin:
70 blue pikmin
How to get:
(1)
Defeat the water dumples and Dwarf Orange Bulborbs that stand in your way to the Orange Bulborb.
(2)
Wake the OB up, run away until it returns to its original sleeping spot, and strike.
(3)
Have your Blue Pikmin carry the treasure back to the ship.
---
Treasure #2
Violence Mark (A ripped out flower)
Worth: 30p.
Weight: 5 pikmin
Location: On a ledge guarded by a Red Bulborb and two Dwarfs, near the landing zone.
Olimar's Notes:
This plant seems to have been ripped off from the patch of flowers it was in. What kind of cruel and heartless being would do such a thing? The simple thought of destroying nature makes me sick.
Sales Pitch:
Do you want something to give to your wife? Don't waste your time plucking flowers when you can have a giant one for a cheap price!
Recommended Pikmin: 50 blue pikmin, 5 yellow pikmin, 40 white pikmin.
How to get:
(1)
Have your blues take down the drain to the north of the base. You can't have the door taken down by blues, as the water around it is poisoned because of fumes under the gates.
(2)
Have your white pikmin take down the black gate.
(3)
While the whites take the wall down, have your blues kill the bulborbs guarding the ledge, and carry them to the base if any casualties occur.
(4)
When the whites finish, go through the opening, turn left at the fork and toss the pikmin over the small stream. Defeat the dwarf red bulborbs if they annoy you.
(5)
On the other side, call the yellows back and toss them on the ledge to fetch the treasure.
(6)
Call them back when they fall, and have the blues carry the treasure up to the ship.
Note: From now on, we consider you already took down the dark bone gate, which means you can go on through the level with any kind of pikmin (almost).
---
Treasure #3
Sportive Potential (Tennis Ball)
Worth: 100p.
Weight: 20 pikmin
Location: To the north of the base, guarded by a 'family' of Orange Bulborbs.
Olimar's Notes:
This treasure is amazing! It reminds me of my childhood, when I played sports with my classmates. Of course, I never saw them again after that. I wonder what they're up to now...
Sales Pitch:
This treasure has a lot of potential among sportive hocotatians. If you like sports, consider buying this!
Recommended Pikmin: 50 purples
How to get
(1)
Kill the puffy blowhog so it doesn't interrupt the pikmin when they carry the treasure to the base.
(2)
Kill the two dwarf orange bulborbs and the two Orange Bulborbs with the purples.
(3)
Carry the treasure to your base.
---
Treasure #4
Hard-Shelled Fruit (Coconut)
Worth: 80p.
Weight: 25 pikmin
Location: In the level's north-east, on a shore near two dumples.
Olimar's Notes:
This fruit seems to have grown a large shell to prevent predators from eating it. The shell, however, is weak, which means that a good blow can smash it open.
Sales Pitch:
Are you interested in a large fruit that has a great taste and lies behind a mysterious shell? Pardon the hole, our silly captain wanted to taste it.
Recommended Pikmin: 40 blue pikmin, 40 white pikmin
How to get:
(1)
Clear the area of the Dwarf Red Bulborb, the Red Bulborb and the two shearwigs.
(2)
Have the whites beat down the gate.
(3)
Dodge the water dumples, and roll down the bridge.
(4)
Bring the treasure to the base.
---
Treasure #5
Appreciation Statue (Olimar figurine)
Worth: 60p.
Weight: 10 pokos
Location: In the stage's northmost area, inside a Smoky Progg.
Olimar's Notes:
Today, I was shocked! As I was walking about, following the treasure gauge's warnings, I found that it led to a Smoky Progg egg! Since there was a treasure inside of it, I had to break it down. Oh, the awful memories of my pikmin dieing to this awful creature from my first trip to this planet! White pikmin can whistand the poisonous gases, but that specimen gained the ability to step on pikmin, which makes it just as tough as before...
The treasure, though, is just as surprising! It is mind-boggling as to why there would be a statue of me when no one ever heard of me? ...or did they?
Sales Pitch:
Do you want to have a 'piece' of our Captain Olimar in your living room? Then buy this statue!
Recommended Pikmin: 20 blue pikmin.
How to get:
(1) Go up to the area with the blue pikmin. Swarm the egg and wait for the progg to emerge.
(2)
Call every pikmin, run back to the base, quickly put in the blues and take out 100 white pikmin (or all of them)
(3)
Take on the progg when he gets to the base, by using the Pikmin 1 strategy. Don't swarm it, for even though the whites are invulnerable to the toxic, the progg can step on the pikmin to kill them.
(4)
When killed, take the treasure and bring it to the ship, and carry the marble to the onion you wish.

Enemies Log (Revamped old ones and new ones)
Revamps
---
Dwarf Orange Bulborb
New abilities: Can let out a cry to call out ANY type of enemy. Be careful when attacking or you'll have too many enemies coming for you to fend off.
Dwarf Red Bulborb
New Abilities: As in Pikmin 1, they can let out a cry to wake up Red Bulborbs.
Smoky Progg
New Abilities: They can step on pikmin, so be careful to not let it get on your army.
New Weaknesses: White Pikmin can whistand the toxic sludge trail it leaves behind. However, the progg can still step on them, so throwing will still be necessary.
---
New
---
Dwarf Fishborb
Pansarus pseudoculii oceanus
Breadbug family
Weight: 3 pikmin
Worth: 3 p.
Pikmin: 6 pikmin
Olimar's notes:
Similarly to its land counterpart, this creature mimics the larger Fishborbs' look to avoid predation. However, this type of breadbug has adapted to water areas, grown fins and a tail, and lives underwater. Its mobility is greatly improved from other 'dwarf' bulborb species, and can reach its prey in a few swift moves from its tail and fins.
Louie's notes:
Roasted, this creature can serve as a nice appetizer or can be served along with other types of seafood. A true culinary sucess!
Techniques:
If possible, attempt to attack the bulborb the closest you can without going in the water. If you have to, toss pikmin on it to end this as fast as possible. Unlike other dwarf bulborbs, tossing pikmin on its back will not kill it.
===
Spotty Fishborb
Oculus kageyamii Oceanus
Grub-dog family
Weight: 8 pikmin
Worth: 9p.
Pikmin: 15 pikmin
Olimar's Notes
This grub-dog species has adapted to places filled with deep water puddles, and has grown fins and gills. This creature has an advantage in underwater areas, but pretty much fears going out of the water. No specimens have been detected in any shallow pools of water, which means they can only live underwater.
Louie's notes
Remove the fins and the tails, then cook. Can be served on the main course, this meal will be rejoiced by many!
Techniques:
Attack just like any other big bulborb, but keep in mind that it might be swimming above you...
===
Dwarf Fishbear
Oculus terribilis oceanus
Grub-dog family
Weight: 3 pikmin
Worth: 8p.
Pikmin: 7 pikmin
Olimar's Notes
Another type of grub-dog that has adapted to watery regions, and grew fins, a tail and gills. Unlike the others, this one can jump out of the water to snatch prey and hop back in. While doing this, though, it starts gasping from the air, so if it can't go back in the water, it's pretty much finished.
Louie's Notes
Inedible. The skin is too hard to eat.
Technique:
You have two options: either go underwater and attack as normal, or either lure it out of the water then swarm. Be careful, though, as these are only found along with a Spotty Fishbear, with whom they'll never leave the water, so try to get them out before the adult comes to get them.
===
Spotty Fishbear
Oculus terribilis dotticum oceanus
Grub-dog family
Weight: 9 pikmin
Worth: 20 pokos
Pikmin: N/A
Olimar's Notes:
This water-adapted species patrols an usually large pool of water similarly to its ground-walking cousin. It also has the underwater mobility that other members of this subspecies have. Just like the younger specimens, this one can go out of the water to attempt to snatch prey. However, it won't hop out, simply emerge its face close to the coast, attempt to snatch something, and then go back underwater to enjoy whatever it snatched.
Louie's Notes:
Inedible. All types of Fishbears have a hard skin that cannot be chewed or cut.
Technique:
To defeat this monstrosity, toss pikmin on its back and call them back when shook off. However, you have a disadvantage: this one lives underwater, which calls for blue pikmin.
Alternatively, have it pop out of the water, then stun it with purples. Beware, though, as dwarf fishbear can be following it, so underwater attacks can be dangerous unless the child are disposed of before the adult can recruit them.
===
Smoky Progg (Only the notes, scientific name and family are new...)
Goois Mortellis
Mamuta Family
Weight: 3 pikmin
Worth: 100p.
Pikmin: 100 pikmin
Olimar's Notes
This creature seems to be a mamuta larva that has a malformation which keeps it from maturing into a Mamuta. This creature is composed of ooze, which is thought to be the composition of the primary larval stage of a Mamuta.
Louie's Notes:
The creature leaves nothing behind but an inedible marble.
Technique: Take a bunch of whites and attempt to attack its back. If that task is too hard for you, attempt to hit its face with purples, or whites. Beware, though, as it can step on pikmin.
