Oh hello there folks!
This is a revival of the revival of possibly one of my all-time favourite Pikmin RPGs: Monster Caring.
And no, it doesn't have anything to do with zombies or Frankeinstein's Monster.
Goal
Once again, the goal is simple. Raise your monsters and train them for fights. When you have enough money, you can buy a Key to move on to the next world. All your belongings will follow you.
You start off with $20, 5 packs of normal Monster Chow, and a cabin. You have to buy at least 1 monster.
Shop
You buy your stuff and critters there.
Starter's Selection of Critters
Dwarf Red Bulborb
Costs $3
A small, basic fighter. It has average statistics.
Red Bulborb
Costs $9
It's a tough creature, but rather big. Can't fit in a hut.
Pikmin Sack
Costs $1
Pikmin are tiny and easily defeated. They cannot be healed when defeated. Each bag contains 5 seeds with random colors within. You can only own 10 pikmin at any time.
Albino Wollywog
Costs $5
Wollywogs are rather strong and resistant. However, they can be pretty slow. They prefer to live in water, but can live outside of it if required to.
Wogpole
Costs $2
Wogpoles are aquatic creatures that requires a different type of food, impermeable chow. They cannot fight. However, they evolve randomly into an Albino Wollywog, a Yellow Wollywog, a Bloated Wollywag, or a Wollywamp after a certain amount of time, depending on how well they are treated.
You can unlock more, but they won't appear here.
Toys
Tennis Ball
Costs $2.
A basic toy. Bulborbs especially enjoy those.
Plushy 'Shroom
Costs $3
The mushroom from the Mario games! It makes a sound when squished.
Jumping Rope
Costs $3
Nintendogs did it, so why not? If you wanna get more than one critter involved in playtime, buy this. Not recommended with big creatures.
More can appear later on. But those are the initial three you can pick out at the shop.
Decorations
Pellet Posy
Costs $3
It's a flower that flashes from red to yellow to blue. Wow.
Potted Tree
Costs $5
It's a potted tree. What did you expect??
Bookshelf
Costs $7
Consider this if your creatures wanna read stuff. Maybe there's something in there for you?
Food
Monster Chow
Costs $2
Traditional food.
Apple
Costs $4
Healthy food. Literally. It recovers 5HP when used on a critter.
Impermeable Chow
Costs $3
Fancy name, not so fancy use. Mainly used for aquatic beasts.
Sugar Apple
Costs $7
You know what sugar does, right? This treat hypes up your creature, making them more agile and likely to dodge attacks for 2 turns.
Water Bottle
Costs $1
Water. Enough said.
Festive Section
Holiday's Package
Costs $12
Only available in December, this pack contains a lot of things you can use for festive enjoyment.
Present
Costs $3
You can only get one on December 25th. This box can hold anything! Only way to find what it holds is to get one! But don't worry! There's no way you'll get any crap like a stick or apple juice.
Creepy Collection
Costs $7
Get your hands on these! Spook your neighbours with these! Available in October.
Candy Pack
Costs $3
Candy! A nice Halloween treat for your critters! Gives you 6 pieces of candy.
Worlds
World 1: Normal Village
This is where you start off. You can get used to the physics of the game here. Monsters are pretty easy around here. A key here costs $30.
New places:
-Shop
Buy your goods here. See above for a starter's list of what's available.
Open from 9AM to 9PM
-Forest
This is where you go to train your monster and level them up!
-Stadium
You go there for tournaments. When there, you can select a difficulty level, and then start fighting for money. Also, from 8 to 9PM, you can buy tickets to see a grand prix match. The match starts at 9.
-Hospital
This is where you can lead KO'd monsters to heal them. Open 24h a day.
-Plaza
Meet people and lonely critters here. You can challenge people there for a fight too, as well as other players.
-House Shop
Find your favourite house and buy it! See below for the list.
World 2: Water Wonderland
The second world is a water-themed town. You'll mostly encounter water beasties in the forest. A key here costs $100 here.
New places:
-Plaza
It works the same, except there's a small pool of water for your watery critters.
World 3: Chilly Corner
This iced area has no water whatsoever. If you want any water, you'll need to melt it yourself. Or buy some. The forest holds home to a bunch of ice critters. Key here costs $180.
New Places:
-Ice Rink
You can bring your critters there for some ice skating. Admission is $5.
Only available in World 3.
World 4: Western Valley
This land is known for its crooks, baddies and sheargrub infestations?!? The desert replaces the forest in this world, and a key is $250.
New Places:
-Desert
Replaces the forest in this land. Town gates allow entry to the endless land of sand at 9AM, and the town gates close at 9PM. Be sure to bring along lots of water bottles, amigo!
World 5: Tropical Town
This place is a nice tropical area. The forest here is a jungle. Key costs $320.
New Places:
-Jungle
Same as the forest.
-Temple
This is a temple from an ancient civilization. Solve the puzzles and get the treasure! Admission is $10.
More worlds will come later.
Houses
The main deal with the game is that you can own different kinds of houses!
Here are the three main types:
Cabin
Costs $0 (you start the game with it)
A cheap wood-made cabin.
Advantages:
-You have your own water pond, which means you don't need to constantly get water.
Disadvantages:
-Your house is a bit small for some of your creatures; you'll need to leave the large ones outside. Same thing for your water creatures.
-Your house is close to the forest, which makes you vulnerable to wild monster attacks.
Apartment
Costs $180
More room, but...
Advantages:
-Your room is less crammed, which allows you to keep in more monsters.
-You can get free tap water.
Disadvantages:
-You'll need a tank for your water critters.
-Sometimes, the tap water gets infected.
-Underground beasties such as snagrets will have to remain at your cabin.
Modern House
Costs $300
A house like we have nowadays.
Advantages:
-You have lots more room for your monsters.
-The house comes with a basement, which can be used to keep water monsters inside.
-There's a freakin' yard! You can use it to keep your burrowing critters.
Disadvantages:
-You'll have to buy all of your resources.
Mansion
Costs $800
A freakin' palace!
Advantages:
-You get tap water again, but you have a special filtering system this time around!
-You should have more than enough room for all of your critters!
-You can allow more room for your burrowing and water creatures!
Disadvantages:
-IT'S FREAKIN' HAUNTED. A LUIGI'S MANSION, MAN. And your smaller critters ARE gonna get scared by those ghosts.
