Journal Entry: Date: ∆◊☼¿: Morning
Long ago, due to our close communion with Mother Nature, our bodies took the form of leaves while our mind joined with that of our earthly mother. That was why we felt an unease when those strange Breadbugs first appeared several days ago. Unknown to us, the fear we felt was a warning from Mother Nature, but we failed to heed it. After all, we were chosen by Mother Nature to spread her message; what had we to fear if she was on our side?
Yet, I think even the most pious among us had his faith shaken when the mechanical demons appeared. It was a hideous amalgam of metallic machines, belching flames, and choking smoke. Our front line Skitterleaves were caught completely by surprise. Unable to flee, they tried to hide within the foliages, but the foremost demon somehow knew where my brothers were hiding and burned them to ashes.
For the past minutes, the mechanical monstrosities have been gouging deep wounds into the earth, just a few Bulborb lengths from our outermost wall. I can only hope our enemies are missing due to poor aim, but judging by how my hiding brothers were discovered so easily, I fear there is some hidden motive.
As I write, General Spiro has arrived to speak with us. I pray that Mother Nature will enlighten his mind in this trying hour.
Issac Fischer, Skitterleaf Infantry
==============================================
Yes, this journal entry is the first battle update. I decided to use a different perspective in writing a battle.
Infinity can now send in plans.

For the Emperor, we shall crush these heretics and their Nature Goddess. When they became aware of us, the Xenos stacked wood and set their own defenses on fire in an attempt to stop us. Pitiful, the Emperor’s will burns brighter in us then any fire.
To answer them, the artilleries first formed makeshift trenches by firing into the ground. Then, while the troops moved into the newly formed trenches, the artilleries switched their fire to the Xeno’s defenses. By the Emperor’s will, the heretic’s defenses will fall swiftly.
Of note, I observed several planes leaving their base from the back.

They tried to attack us from below, but I have already foreseen this. Thanks to the espionage report conducted several days before by infiltrating Breadbugs, I knew to have White Pikmin identify the Slatesearchers' stony body. The Breadbugs squad had dealt with this attack with little casualties. As I write, the enemy last defense, a great burning wall, is about to fall.

Fear ensures loyalty! In a desperate attempt, the Xeno’s sent squads of Honeywisps with Flame Shatter Mortar overhead and projectile waste matters from their Dung Beatle Larva. Some of the Imperial Guards actually broke down and tried to flee. I had to quickly remind them of their duty to the Emperor by executing the shameful cowards. Inspired by my example, the rest of the Guards went to action. The Nordwind, Hydra, and assorted tanks quickly eliminated the Honeywisps. Unexpectedly, some of the very same Flame Shatter Mortars we sold to the heretics were still dropped successfully upon the Imperial Guards, slowing down our advance. The Dung Beetles were more easily dealt with. With the combined firepower of the Kampfguppe Lehr’s Beetle Larva, alongside the machines, the disgusting Dung Beetle Larva were quickly driven off.
As of now, the last smoldering defenses are being put out to provide a clear path for our slow and decisive march upon the enemy base. The Imperial Guards will uproot this den of false messiahs. Glory to the Emperor!

Date: ∆◊☼¿ Time: 1654 To: HQ Administrator Combat Report Initial reports from the Kampfguppe Lehr forces have met most expectations. Nature's Wrath has been completely routed. Based on the Kampfguppe Lehr's performance, it is recommended that we should continue financing them. However, none of the enemy officers have been found. In addition, the enemy base had been completely empty, except for some weapon documents. HQ's tactical officers have concluded that a blitzkreig would have resulted in a higher chance of complete success. A slow advance, while safe, allowed the bulk of Nature's Wrath to escape while a rear guard harrassed our forces with underground guerilla tactics. With Nature's Wrath high amount of tunneling experts, the Imperial Guard's Breadbugs were unable to prevent all underground attacks. Obest Fritz Klink has mentioned that Commissar Hangworth, a leader of the allied Imperial Guards, intends to completely demolish Nature Wrath's base to it's component resources to build a Baneblade, some kind of machine. It is unknown what this is, but our tactical officers have expressed desire in obtaining its blueprints. Pauline Canas, Head Secretary ============================================= For a 12 day project that both Imperial Guards and Kampfguppe Lehr must do individually, Nature's Wrath base can be broken down into resources. It must be done for the most current log or Nature's Wrath will get its base back intact. ============================================== CasualtiesNature's Wrath - 90 Skitterleafs - 230 Honeywisps - 16 Dung Beetle Larva - 10 Slatesearcher - 15 Creeping Chrysanthemum - Rosebush - 2 Thornbush - Firewall - Base broken down Imperial Guards - 10 White Pikmin - 16 Yellow Pikmin - 6 Breadbug + 6 Bayonet Helmets - 10 Scope Rifle - 5 day damage to a Hydra Kampgruffe Lehr - 20 Orange Pikmin - 25 Yellow Pikmin - 20 MP-80s LootImperial Guards/Kampgruffe Lehr - Cluster Bombs Ammo - Honey Bomb Ammo - 30 Pikmite - 30 Blowhognium - 28 Requisition Nature's Wrath - 3 Requisition

Oh, and this may just be a misunderstanding, but the troops, "Slatesearchers" were the ones sent to burrow under machines. Slateseeker, the officer, is within the base. Not sure if that's referring to the captain or the species.

I like the updates so far. Love the writing style. I wouldn't mind a couple logs from one of my officers, but I really don't care. I love how you portrayed both sides.

Not sure if that's referring to the captain or the species. It was a mistake on my part. The captain, Slateseeker, is well; it's the Slatesearchers who took part in the attack. ============================================== Current Casualties Nature's Wrath - 80 Skitterleafs - 210 Honeywisps - 4 Dung Beetle Larva - 8 Slatesearcher - Rosebush - 2 Thornbush - Firewall Imperial Guards - 10 White Pikmin - 16 Yellow Pikmin - 4 Breadbug + 4 Bayonet Helmets - 5 day damage to a Hydra Kampgruffe Lehr - 20 Orange Pikmin - 10 Yellow Pikmin

Thanks for updating so quickly after the plan revision, Hachi. Did my recon unit fail to locate the planes?
Well-fought, Infinity.
