"Yarr! Land ho!" the lookout shouted as e waved his tentacle down from the crow's nest. The captain of the Schooner adjusted his tricorn. "Ye hear? We almost be there, lads!" As the Schooner and Sloop approached the shore, their transport steered off to drop off its contents: 180 angry, scurvy, and slightly drunken jellyfloats of the Floating Freebooters.
Of course, the Breadbug Battalion was not oblivious to this action. A loud bell rang throughout the camp. Several troops winced, as the population of the base was turned to the watchtower. A breadbug manning the tower motioned his body towards the sea. "We got unknown ships on the horizon! They wave black sails above their masts!"
"Pirates..." General Atlas muttered. "Alright, you know what to do. Load up the railgun, defend the beaches, and launch the S-boat. Get moving!" Breadbugs scrambled to their positions, (literally) digging in along the beach. Pyros and Grenadiers sat poised to light up the shore, the battlesip moved to protect the coast, and the railgun moved into position. It adjusted slightly, and took the first shot.
"Missed shell off the port bow!" shouted one of the deckhands. "Its from the battleship!" yelled the lookout. "Arr, full speed!" ordered the Schooner captain. "Send it to Davey Jone's Locker!" Once in range, the Schooner open-fired on the Battleship with its machineguns, riddling the deck with holes. The Sloop sailed in close to shore, firing all its machineguns across the beach. "Mmm Mhm Mmmhmh!" mumbled one of the Pyros, moments before a round dtonated his fuel canister. Flames covered the beach, and screams of death filled the air.
Another railgun shot pierced the air, punching a hole in the stern of the Schooner. "Argh, we be hit, cap'n! 't wasn't from the battleship!" It took several shots and a few holes in the Schooner for its crew to realize that the battleship hadn't fired a shot.
Back on the shore, the Breadbug Battalion's foot soldiers were facing absolute slaughter at the hands of the Sloop and the jellyfloats that now plagued the skies, as they could not hit any of them. Pyros and Grenadiers made fruitless attempts to hit their floating tormentors before they were sucked up by Greater Spotted Jellyfloats or gunned down by machinegun fire. The same went for most of the other breadbugs, although most of the Orange breadbugs managed to avoid death. As the ground troops were powerless against the jellyfloats, a group of Lesser Jellyfloats proceeded to crack open the resource storage and started ferrying petals and goo back to the ships.
Just as things seemed to be looking their worst for the Breadbug Battalion, the S-boat barely surfaced behind the attacking ships and began to approach them unnoticed. Its speed increased, and it rammed into the starboard side of the Schooner. The S-boat's racked bow helped tear through the partially wooden Schooner, leaving it heavily damaged. However, the S-boat was not built for ramming, and it suffered heavy structural damage as well...
-End of Update One-
Will the Floating Freebooters discover the railgun that has been causing so many problems? Will the Breadbug Battalion be able to hurt any of the airborne troops? Was it a good idea to use a submarine in a kamikaze attack? Tune in next time for another exciting episode of Pikmin Wars!
OK, send in any plan revisions. If you do it soon enough, I just might be able to possibly do it by Friday or Saturday!
