'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the land
All creatures were sprinkled with the sandman's fine sand.
The clock had struck twelve, and those awake they could hear
The sleigh of Saint Nick and his eight tiny reindeer.
He stared down in malice at those fast asleep
All the pikmin below who shan't make a peep.
"How dare they!" He thought, his belly so large
Passing over Claisen and his iron-clad Barge.
"All I see them do is fight against one another!
Ah but tonight is when they'll cry for their mothers!"
"I'll teach them a lesson they'll never forget!
All their violence and battles I'll make them regret!"
Large presents were falling as Santa did soar
Each one of them landing at an army's front door.
Obest Fritz Klink woke up from a loud "BANG"
Along with all other generals, commanders, and gang.
The presents unfolded and much to surprise
Sprang out five machines, and troops bringing demise!
"Get to your stations!" Yelled commanders alike
"We must be ready before their first strike!"
Santa watched from above, veiled by night,
"Merry Christmas to all and to all a good fight!"
==============================
It's Christmas time and Santa is pissed. He's angry at the naughty armies fighting each other endlessly, and instead of just filling their stockings with coal, he's decided to send out coal-powered machines to attack at the armies!
Most troops are still sleeping, and if you wish to fend off Santa, you'll have to get as many to fight as possible!
Santa's Troops:
5 Stocking Stuffers (100 Holiday Metal) (These puppies pack a mean punch! As they are able to convert from sea to land, they're an especially hard thing to deal with! Each have only one basic turret, but it's capable of using any ammunition. Light vehicle armor.)
50 Elves (Basic troops somewhat larger than Pikmin, aren't invulnerable to anything, but nothing's truly effective either. Equipped with Swiss Army Knives.)
Your Troops
5 War Machines (Choose wisely! This includes turrets, so be scrupulous!)
5 Days worth of Ordinaries (Allowance of 30 to be equipped with weapons/armor)
5 Days worth of Specials (This is your only leg up on Santa's forces, don't waste your choice! Allowance of 3 to be equipped with weapons/armor)
==========================
Santa will NOT ATTACK you if you have not participated in a battle, and there are a few exceptions for newer folks. If you haven't fought in a battle, post in this topic that you want to participate in this event. OTHERWISE...
All plans need to be sent in to Bread & Butter by the first of 2010! Those who do not comply will lose 150 petals to Santa's forces, along with 50 ordinaries. They also will miss out on scavenging the precious Holiday metal from Santa's machines! All participants will receive a basic complementary prize of 100 Iron for the holidays, winners or losers! Santa will not attack any unit besides what you send to defend.
All battles are one update! This is to make writing these go much faster than normal. Don't hold back in your plans since you'll only get one chance. Only troops from the 24 of December's army log may be used. Any machines, troops, or research completed after the 24 will not be considered. The fight takes place at your base, but only walls and those sorts of defenses will be working.
Each Stocking Stuffer destroyed will give you +40 Holiday Metal. The exact properties of this resource will be disclosed after the event--Just know that it's valuable and you want it.
