Well, the big headline at the top of the forum says to make them, so here's what I have to say.
Firstly, I can't offer any real suggestions because I haven't time to play the game long enough to find something wrong with it, so I'm just going to try and figure it out from an outsider's point-of-view.
I'm looking around, and I'm seeing all the people who are leaving leaving because they don't have enough time. A proposed plan I made was that we wait until they have more time, but seeing as the forum won't live for that long, how do we adjust the game so that the game takes less time?
Another thing is that of maintaining interest- as people leave, battles occur less frequently and the forum basically enters a downhill slide. I don't know if it could be solved by a CPU army or whatever, but something has to be done so that the game is fun to play between battles, or there is something to make sure battles can be fought without a boatload of people (which, I think, is nigh impossible, so you can just forget that.).
And another small note is that of publicity- vidguysteve's shameless advertising of Nintendo Wars before and after my inactive period enticed me to take a look, so how do we do that for Pikmin Wars? An article on Pikipedia or advertising on another Pikmin forum?
I know haven't really proposed any solutions, only brought up more questions, but like I said, I haven't played the game long enough to find out what's wrong with it and the only answers I can provide are theoretical ones.

The problem with a CPU army is that it isn't actually AI-controlled--It takes time to manage from a member, and not enough of us really have time to give. That's why it's such a pain to get it going again; people need time, and there is nothing that we can do to make it for them. It's very nearly undoable.
As for vidguysteve, if it puffs his ego to be king of a ten-man forum and never put down the mention of it, that's fine. His circus acts are tired and obnoxious, but there's not much a forum left, so banning him would just be beating a dead horse and wouldn't do anything. Join SMKW if you'd like a somewhat more active forum game, I've not the time to manage this... Hell, I almost thought I'd have time to at least rejoin SMKW a few days ago, but I spoke too soon and that time window was quickly closed. I'd like to help you with this, but there's just not much to be done.

I wonder if it's bad taste to tell someone to advertise on other forums then publically insult them... Can't be, because WD is the king of tact. And joe's in charge of SMKW this version, I'm retiring, you jackasses. >________>

Yeah! I'm the douchebag with the inflated ego in charge of SMKW, not Vidguy.
Vidguy is just the normal type of douchebag.

Direct quote from myself, Leave PW alone for now, that place might be getting a revive.
There will probably not be a revival anyhow, at least if nobody like Luftwaffle or Hachi decide take on the torch, but regardless--To be fair, I stopped advertising when you said to stop on SMKW (a few months ago). I may have mentioned to leave PW alone in an edit rather than the core post, but it was a pretty fast edit and noticeable enough. Anyways, not to make a spat out of this especially when neither forum is exactly booming anymore, but have some basic respect please. I feel like PW was always viewed as an attempt to sap SMKW's members and popularity away, when for the most part it was just Bulbmin, Hachi, and I experimenting with a forum game.

I didn't mean to start any arguments or insult anybody...
But back on the topic of keeping PW alive- OK, so CPU army won't work, once again, because of the time factor.
There are some devout forum members, out there, right? The problem is the lack of staff and the lack of time the staff have. So is there anybody at all who wants to, as Water Dumple put it, "take on the torch" so that the forum will survive until spring break or summer or, if they really have patience, when Pikmin 3 comes out?

Through PMs you told me that I could start a topic advertising, just not to spam up the place.
That's exactly what Vidguy did. I don't honestly see a problem here.

I said to wait a month or thereabouts, as I was hoping for some Pikmin 3 news in the aftermath of Nintendo's conference.
Whatever. It didn't kill anyone.

I think the biggest reason this died was because the staff members just didn't have time. 3 battles posted were never modded, and one that was being modded never got very far, I believe. I'm not actually sure of this. And the Random Events never got very far either.
I hope Pikmin 3 will be announced soon; maybe that will help get some new members.
As a last-resort thing, I would suggest either letting normal members that aren't involved mod a battle so battles will go a bit faster and the mods will have more time to maintain Random Events. Either this, or making new staff members. Possibly having a rank that doesn't have any moderator powers but allowed to mod battles.

You guys can do whatever you want. You can use the domain to keep playing and modding your own battles if you want, that sort of thing.
And to clarify, "whatever you want" is not entirely literal, don't destroy the site or anything.

So we self govern ourselves with some guidance until more people come?

So we self govern ourselves with some guidance until more people come? Pretty much. Letting normal members help with stuff like battles provides good experience for when the mods aren't around. Even when the mods are around, it's almost necessary if they're all in the same battle (easy when they team up) and others don't have the time. I modded four battles in SMKW (and did a good job) because nobody else was there to do it, either being in the battles, lacking time, or not even being present.

I too, am a devout member, but perhaps we should wait till spring break, see how many people come back during that time, and then decide on a course of action. We wouldn't want people to come back and find the place completely different than it was when they left.
