True. How much is battlefield? It seems to be pretty entertaining... And action-packed to the max. You can get the Battlefield 2 Complete Collection for 20-30 dollars, and Battlefield 2142 for as low as 15. Battlefield is different from other online games I've played in that there are so many things that can go wrong, that when every one of them is messing up, it's one of the most horrible things to be involved in. An absolutely stupid waste of time. And yet when everything is going RIGHT, it may surpass anything else I've ever played. Obviously, you've got to be good at teamwork (Or at least try) to get that sort of an experience out of it, but if you play on the Texas Teamplayers server and whatnot, it can be great.

Sounds like fun. Perhaps I will buy sometime soon. What do you recommend I buy? The collectors or 2142? I'd rather not get both as 1. I am a cheap ass. and 2. If i don't find it that enjoyable, Im stuck with two games instead of one. Whereas if I really like one, I might just get the other too.

2142, definitely. Some people say it's a clone of Battlefield 2, but I have no idea what they're talking about. Even if it is somehow a clone, it's a hell of a lot better!
Not that Battlefield 2 is a bad game, but sometimes it seems like EA let somebody out of the insane asylum and told him to design the aircraft. Even with the patch a few days that was supposed to improve AA, BF2's aircraft are still the single most broken and stupid things in the entire series.

Alright then. Don't know when I'll have the time to play it though. School starts Tuesday, I still have the Metroid Prime Trilogy to beat, not to mention Fallout 3 and a copy of the friend's Oblivion. But it's now high on my list!

The sound sucks in this video, but it's otherwise decent. It's on a mostly infantry map, so you'll not see walkers or anything. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iySbjNcysts&fmt=18By the way, that Voss he uses for most of the video? Basically the dumbest thing in the game. Which is good, as it's obviously not even close to being as overpowered as BF2's jets, and thus amounts to little more than a minor annoyance.

Geez, seems pretty damn involved. How do you win? it it like battlefront with command points and a set amount of troops or are their several types of victories?

Geez, seems pretty damn involved. How do you win? it it like battlefront with command points and a set amount of troops or are their several types of victories? That's exactly how it is, in fact. You get flags around the map, and every time a guy on your team dies, your team loses a ticket. Lose all your tickets and you lose, but if you get most of the flags on the map then the other team starts dribbling them constantly. There's also Titan mode. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0x9m58Vol1cThat's the tutorial video for it in the game. Makes it look easier than it is, since people usually have defenses all over their Titan, so teamwork is important to get through. And, yes, it is very involved; took me about ten minutes just to figure out what everything on the HUD was.

That seems even more involved than that other video! God, how long do each of these modes take? And what happens if you don't escape the enemy titan when it is going down?

That seems even more involved than that other video! God, how long do each of these modes take? And what happens if you don't escape the enemy titan when it is going down? They can really vary. I've seen some ridiculous lightning offense moves that can end a Titan match in fifteen minutes, but usually they take 30-45. Conquest takes a while too, but it has the potential to be five minutes long or an hour, based on the map and whether a team rolls or stalemates. If you don't get off of the Titan in time, then...you just don't get off in time. You still win. However, reaching the ground safely will give you a Titan Survivor Pin worth 10 career points. If you don't know what a Pin is, it's an award that you can get over and over for more points. They're basically little achievements you do in a single match; for example, getting 4 kills with a handgun in one round gives you a Firearm Efficiency Pin, which gives you a bonus 5 career points. Or reviving 8 people with the Assault class's defibrillator gets you an Emergency Rescue Pin, also worth 5 points. The other awards are Ribbons, Badges, and Medals. Ribbons and Medals are challenging to get, and you only get them once--For example, the Good Conduct Ribbon requires 50 hours of play time. Then, in a round, just get 10 kills without causing any team damage/teamkilling. That'll give you 500 career points. Medals are similar, except MUCH harder and more time-consuming. I don't actually have a special one yet so I don't know how much they're worth. Badges come in 3 stages, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. The Silver and Gold are available after you get Bronze but are harder to get than the original badge. Overall, there are a ton of goals to go for, and the deep unlock system helps this; you'll want to try to get a hard award for the points, because maybe you really want that Zeller-H Advanced Sniper Rifle unlock you plan on getting next level. Or an upgrade for longer sprint time. Or a 3-shot, underbarrel shotgun attachment for Assault. Or a sticky bomb launcher for Support. Or a squad leader item that detects enemies in the area. Or... You get the picture.

Geez! Seems pretty damn customizable... Maybe I'll try the demo first... Should I? If it's a MMO, how does a demo work?

Geez! Seems pretty damn customizable... Maybe I'll try the demo first... Should I? If it's a MMO, how does a demo work? MMO? It can't have more than 64 players per match, you might be thinking of something else. Think of Team Fortress 2 or Call of Duty 4 multiplayer. I've never played the demo, so I can't tell you. If you do decide to get it, though, you ought to get the Deluxe version. That way, you'll only have to install one patch and you'll get all the sweet Northern Strike booster pack stuff.

The only Battlefield game I've ever played was bad company, but man, this look a ton better. Would you be able to get every single weapon by the time you're at max level, or would I need to spend them wisely because I can only unlock half of them, no matter how long I play?

Every unlock is available when you hit the top rank. It's most likely that you'll find one or two kits you really like and main those, so you'll max those out before getting to the top anywhere else. Because Northern Strike adds another unlock to the top of every tree without adding more ranks, getting a Northern Strike award instantly gives you an unlock. If you see my stat signature there, there's a Northern Strike bit with the awards from it.
