More accurately, the Japanese Title, as released by Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo, during the GDC 2009(Game Developers Conference, 2009) of the game is to be named The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, featuring Cel-Chaded Link in a new environment consisting of what many believe to be the sequel to the game The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. It is still being debated whether this will be a DSi release, or a Normal DS release.
Gameplay includes Dual Screen Mapping while outside, and in dungeons, Dual Screen Boss Battles, and much more. The release is planned for late 2009, but may be moved to early 2010.

I think they are kindof overstepping the bounds of reason with this. I mean, the Waterborn link games were popular, hugely, but I think it was better left on the gamecube. The DS version was... Well, good, but the controls are not obvious to the usually handheld gamer. Closing and blowing into the DS was cool, but untranslatable to most other games. Unless the controls are made slightly more obvious, I doubt Spirit Tracks will work as well as Wind Waker.

So you are saying to leave the advantages of the DS and just build a regular Zelda devoid of creativity? Who cares if it "translates to other games"? Is that not the point of a game, to be unique from others? Every game has an element not found in others.

Personally, I thought Phantom Hourglass had great puzzles in that they took such creative solutions to complete, but what it lacked was good map-based puzzles, in stuff like dungeons and the like. I think if they give this three things--What Phantom Hourglass needed... -Difficulty settings -More complexity -Much longer game overall ...It could be amazing. Phantom Hourglass had great controls, graphics, and a very good start, but it was simply too easy, not long enough, and too simple (In that you couldn't do all the creative stuff the game employed a second time--The puzzles are only hard once).

@ Tin: No, I did like both the games. I think I am just sour because when Icecream rented it, he annoyed the hell outta me. I like the ocean thing for zelda, but I thought it would be even more different. Besides, a few months ago, nintendo said they wouldn't be making Zelda the same way anymore.
@ WD: As previously stated, my little bro wanted to get through it, but needed me too much. Little fart hardly did anything. And I think nintendo is making all its games too short nowadays.

Agreed about the length. I was playing through Phantom Hourglass and by the time I got to the Last Boss (i forget it's name) I figured the game was half way through. I imagined ganondorf or vaati to pop out of the dead body and I would have to beat him in the 'real world' or at least the map to broaden. Saddly mistaken I beat the boss and was in disbelief that in 2 days i beat the game; I was playing it sparsly hoping to make it last. Im saddened to realize that it appears that Nintendo is just milking the sell-shaded link series. I mean I bet that they have ideas, but realize that they can profit more from spreading them throuth out several short games instead of one. Maybe it was just Phantom Hourglass but I get the feeling that this new game will be equally as disappointing...
