The place is blowing up, fast. We need ideas and something we can put together in a hurry, like, before March or not too long into it.
Bulbmin, can you post your ideas for the game? You only gave me a few of them.

Reduce everything. Low unit gains, caps, etc.
This should make it easier on the players and the mods. This won't revolutionize the game, but it will help simplify whatever gamemode we decide on.
Also, nix multiple bases. I think we can all agree on this.

I asked people if they wanted fewer things not too long ago, such as 1 Special troop or 10 Ordinaries a day, but almost nobody liked that idea.

Agh, this forum is burning up fast. Guys, get to it. Any completely random ideas? POST THEM HERE. We need you guys, or the game, the forum, and its community are toast. Very soggy toast.

Um......how about getting 5 Specials AND 10 Ordinaries for the first 50 days of each army?

No, that aids the older players too much, and hurts newer armies.
I do like a 1 special or 10 ordinary gain per day now, anyways, even if I didn't like it anyways.
Also, trade routes, though a good concept, should be VOIPed because no one really used them (besides Rocky, methinks) and because it just adds more rules.

Let's get a big list of stuff we accept. But, this is moving towards a revision of this version, whereas Bulbmin's ideas would be a largely different game...I could give you folks some of the ideas he told me about it. Here's the main thing he said: Well, for my idea, I was thinking about a couple of things. The first thing was that all of our wars are based on something that exists already. I was thinking I could make something from the ground up, maybe with help. Like several different races or civilisations or whatever with wars and diplomacy going on between them. Players could be commanders and whatnot within these different factions, and would fight and whatnot.
The other thing I was thinking of is making things more narrative. This would also help with the whole "no point in going to war" thing the Wars we currently have suffer from. There is a point in fighting if your civilisation's colony on some important frontier colony is under attack. This could also lead to set objectives that give a definite feeling of victory. To expand upon that last example, the defender could be given a handful of troops with which to defend the colony from a much larger attack force. However, their objective is only to hold the attackers off long enough for reinforcements to arrive. If they achieve this, they win. On the other hand, if the attacker overwhelms the defender before help arrives, he wins.

Definitive objectives sound nice.

Yeah, sounds cool. I've always liked the idea of having colonies instead of all being seperate armies, and this way there would be like two-three factions with different members playing as sub-groups in them... yeah, that'd be cool.

I LOVE the idea. We should do the different types of civilians thing. They could also be used as militia. It would add complexity, but it would be more than balanced out by the 2 voiped bases and Voiped trade routes.

We should still have achievements. I think they could just be little fun things, you know? They work with normal games, why not a forum game?
Also, I like bulbmin's ideas very much. If you have more bulbmin, please shell 'em out.
