Do the amount of resources change the power of War Machines? I want to use a Free Factory, and for example, would a machine that uses 2 iron have a higher power than a machine that uses 1 iron?

Just defense.

It would probably be able to hold more guns too, but it would also take more project days.

Yeah, what both of them said. The number of resources used determines the size and how thick the armour can be. So if you made something big like a battleship out of only 1 resource, it would have pretty thin armour. If you made something like a slightly bigger than normal tank out of 2 resources, it would have really thick armour. Or you could make it bigger with normal armour.
The strength of the material used determines the quality of the armour, though.

No, I'm asking that if resources used interfere with strength number. For example, if I could make a vehicle using 3 resources in my free factory.

No, if you use a lot of iron, you'll still have a strength 3 tank. It'll just be a lot of strength three.
For example, if I mak a tank out of 10 wood (just as an example) it'll still be made of strength one stuff, but the armor will be thicker, so it'll take much more damage to break through all that wood.

That seems strange, as I could make tanks that would be nearly impossible to kill through my free factory, by making it take tons of resources and under 10 days. I'm sure this needs changing, and I'll wait for a mod

Well the amount of days also goes into how strong it is. 10 wood and 10 days wouldn't be able to do anything at all.

A great movable hunk of iron used to block attacks from your troops that takes only 10 days or less would be way too powerful.

It would only be able to go like, 5 miles per hour.

That doesn't matter if I used it as a base defense.

If that was the case, it would be so underdeveloped or poorly built, it couldn't hold itself together or its weapon would be non-functional.

It really doesn't matter. If someone tried to exploit a loophole like that, God Mod would be called almost immediatly.

I'm pretty sure for resource free factories it's assumed it is only made of one of the material used.

Furthermore, a machine made out of 10 Iron would take 250 petals to build due to resource prices. That's not worth an unmovable hunk of metal.
