I think they should only be able to recruit just the basic pikmin. Or, the basic pikmin and green pikmin for flying troops.
They shouldn't have more, because I see some Hocotatians making pikmin to just fit their needs. You could say that that is okay, because they aren't ripping off non-pikmin troops, but they won't need to.
Hocotatians are supposed to be focusing on machines, not troops.

That's true, but I think perhaps one or two more varieties should be allowed. Orange for repairs and Cyan for cold environments, I feel, would be good.

What about brown? Or should we need a machine for digging?

I don't think this is a good time to enforce the rule, if we do pass it. We should wait until next version, whenever that may be.
I also don't agree with the rule. I think a better one would be you start with the 3 original types of Pikmin, and have to research additional kinds to be able to recruit them. Possibly a 20 day project each.

It would be like the thing Olimar did sorta. You don't just land and there is 12 types right there for you.

I think that it should be a 12 day project, because it shouldn't take 20 days into the game for you to get basic flying/digging troops.

12 is way too small. Consider the possibilities of being allowed to make pikmin the way you want them to be. I think 20 is better. By the way, put up a poll.

I would argue this, but I can see that there are too many people opposing. I'll just drop it for now.

No matter what they do, they'll never be as strong as special troops. Twelve days is a lot, considering that they're the equal to 1/10 of something I will have hundreds of.

You are wrong there. Did you think Wildlife recruits as many Adult Bulborbs in a day as Hocotatian recruits pikmin? You recruit 10 times as much, therefore making it balanced.

Yeah, but a bulborb will always be stronger than a pikmin. Plus special troops can be upgraded as easily as pikmin. I plan on equipping my Snitchbugs with Tommy guns, and other mob stuff.

Yes, well 10 pikmin will usually be able to kill a bulborb.

Joe seems to be dizzy or something. Let me put him straight. First, a Bulborb is 10 times as strong as a Pikmin. You recruit 10 Pikmin for every Bulborb your enemy recruits. Balanced, right? Pikmin are much smaller, and it takes only one tenth of the metal used to upgrade one Bulborb to upgrade one Pikmin. However, it is ten times weaker, so you have to upgrade 10 Pikmin to balance with one Bulborb. Still balanced, right? Math is one of the most important tools humans use. Use it.

Hey Petrosian here's an idea:
Shut up.
I'm getting sick of this arrogant attitude you seem to have. FYI, 10 Pikmin DO NOT always equal one Bulborb. For example, let's say you have 10 Blue Pikmin and tell them to charge a Red Bulborb head on. They will die. Horribly.
Now, let us take a different scenario. You have 5 Purple Pikmin. You have them drop down from a cliff and slam onto the back of an enemy Red Bulborb. Chances are the Pikmin will win in this scenario, or at the very least badly wound the Bulborb. 10 Normals = 1 Special is a guide.

You're thinking of this as a numbers game. It is only partially that way. As a general idea, ten Pikmin = one Bulborb. Is that always the case, or even most of the time? Not rly. You are disregarding terrain, climate, morale, upgrades, equipment, outside influences, and extra abilities. I'd give ya something about your arrogance, too, but Bulbmin already delivered it well enough.
