Scavenging Scoundrels vs. Planet Protectors Attack, #2It hadn't been long since the Planet Protectors had been forced to defend themselves. And with little time to allow them to recover, the Scavenging Scoundrels had returned. Muta, the Elder, was quick to perceive what was quickly approaching the Planet Protectors' base. Owing to the last attack, the base was alert and prepared for an ambush. "My children!" his old, yet strong voice called out. "Once again, the foes are advancing! These heretics, following the foul ones born from the sky, must be exterminated! Rise, face the onslaught, and always remember your cause, in life and death alike!" ( Music) Instinct immediately flew into the veins of the Planet Protectors. Seeing advancing Toast Bugs swimming in the water towards them, a Bulbmin quickly armed himself with a piece of Copper. He rushed to an Electro Node, and connected it to the water with the Copper piece. Immediately the water flashed with electricity, striking everything in the water advancing toward them. The Toast Bugs felt a painful shock, disgruntling them and giving a painful tingling sensation that lasted for long afterwards. Being Toast Bugs, they didn't have quite the tough hides that the other Breadbugs did, and a number of them died from this clever plan, the Mini Breadbugs sliding off of their backs and tumbling into the water where they drowned. However, the Toast Bugs were still Breadbugs, durable as ever, and most survived. The Bulbmin was about to shock the water again, when a bomb resembling a berry flew next to it and blew it to pieces. The Whiskerflies had arrived, and were zooming over the base, bombing the enemy troops down. The Planet Protectors quickly replied to this with their own methods. Blue Pikmin rapidly grabbed their fellow Yellow Pikmin, hurling them up at the foes. Those that were hit dropped to the ground with agitated squeaks, and were instantly ripped apart by the other Pikmin and Bulbmin, aroused and vigorized by their Spicy Vials. ( Music) However, before much fighting had gone on between both sides, the defending force found Berry Bombs blasting their base from another direction: The Whiskercruiser had rumbled across the lake and was now assaulting the base. Remembering that Bomb Rocks worked well on metal walls, and seeing that the battlecruiser firing the Berry Bombs was made of metal, the Mamutas and Snitchbugs of both types quickly armed themselves with Bomb Rocks. With a roar, they charged towards the war machine, hurling Bomb Rocks all around it. Some landed in the water and dissolved, while some landed on the Whiskercruiser, damaging its large hull as they detonated. It seemed to be full of passengers, and apparently was trying to reach the shore, but the angry Mamutas had all blocked the beach off with themselves. The powerful war machine responded with more salvos of Berry Bombs, killing some of the brave Mamutas and Snitchbugs. After a difficult struggle, however, a large number of Bomb Rocks found their marks. With an enormous crash, the Whiskercruiser smashed in two and the halves crunched inward, the machine finally sinking to the bottom of the Distant Spring's great lake. ( Music) It was only an instant of rest for the Planet Protectors, however, as they were abruptly attacked from two sides. The living Toast Bugs had reached the shore, unloading their Mini Breadbugs riding on their backs. Additionally, a surprise force of Soggy Breadbugs, traveling on the lakefloor behind the base, caught them in a pincer movement behind the base. Breadbugs of all kinds charged onto the land. Mini Breadbugs rushed on and pierced some of the defending Pikmins' necks, using their sharp teeth for the task. However, the Antenna Beetles of the defending side quickly ended this by leaping in the air and squashing the smaller foes. This was a small problem for the base, however, as the Soggy Breadbugs and Toast Bugs were now in action. The crunchier variety of the two used their heavier attack power to stomp and chomp the smaller enemies. The Soggy Breadbugs tried, but for all their obscene defense, they definitely couldn't do much to attack. It didn't last for long, however as the Scavenging Scoundrels quickly realized that they weren't doing much and the Mamutas had gotten back from dealing with the Whiskercruiser. Retreating, they cleared out to let the Whiskerflies have one last go at it. Although more of the defending force met difficulty with this, not expecting any more Berry Bombs, the Blue Pikmin quickly grabbed their yellow companions and knocked some of the foes down, just like the first time. Seeing that continuing the assault would only lead to more casualties on both sides, the Scavenging Scoundrels quickly marched into the water and escaped. ( Music) Although no one had noticed it, the brave Bulbmin's piece of Copper had tumbled to the bottom of the lakebed, which a Soggy Breadbug eagerly collected on his way back. With more prepared forces on both sides in comparison to the first attack, the Scavenging Scoundrels and Planet Protectors had both made an impact on each other. ==================== Planet Protectors: Losses100 White Pikmin 100 Purple Pikmin 200 Red Pikmin 200 Bulbmin 60 Mamutas 40 Swooping Snitchbugs 20 Bumbling Snitchbugs 1 Copper Scavenging Scoundrels: Losses100 Mini Breadbugs 35 Toast Bugs 25 Whiskerflies 50 Fanglypillers 1 Whiskercruiser Loot1 Copper ==================== I'd just like to say that you both had pretty good plans this time, which is why the casualties are more equal this time. Good job to both of you. I'd also like comments on the music--Was it good and fitting, or out-of-place? If I use music again, a little input on what would make it better would be nice. If you have questions, compliments, or complaints that can be stated in a logical way, please bring them up.

The music was good. But keep in mind there's other places on the Interwebs for music than just Youtube.

............wow...none of my mini b bugs died...cool I thought the music was fitting. Um, 100 of them died. The number is above the Special troops lost. Thanks for the input on the music. Yes, tin, I know there are other places than Youtube, but it's quickest and easiest for me to get it from there, as I want to spend the majority of my time writing/deciding casualties and not finding music.

All right, I'm back. I'm going to try and forget that last post of mine, but I can say that this battle is well written, and it's pretty original. Great job.

i think that the music adds onto the battles and would like to see more music used in other battles and the battle was also well written.
