I'm not talking realism here, I'm referring to how much of a defensive advantage is given to allies right next to each other. Having plenty of non-allied armies near each other also encourages wars. Distant would be on opposite ends of the same area, naturally--A five or six day march. I could do without the sarcasm.

I ... wasn't being sarcastic at all. I was simply refering to having 4 areas. With 3 bases each, your ally and you must end up in at least 2 area togethers.

Oh, I must have misinterpreted your meaning. Anyhow, that does make sense; it's downright unavoidable. Perhaps this should not apply to allies, and only self-owned bases.

Yup. Allying with a close-by guy will hurt you just as much. What rule is this? I never heard of it. Also, could you give me a chance to move my unfinished second base?

First of all, why did you bold "I never heard of it."? Hachi gave you the reason why you never heard of it.

He wanted me to use a 50-day project to move my unfinished base, the way I read it.

He wanted me to use a 50-day project to move my unfinished base, the way I read it. Normally, a 50 day project is needed to move bases. If you think you got an extraordinary reason why you should be able to move without a project, then I'm open to hearing about it.

He put his base next to either mine or his main one, I forget, and he started it before we made the lesser troops rule.

In that case, Petrosian can go ahead and move his second base.
