Um, yeah. I didn't want to argue in his troop topic, so I put it here.
Anyway, Rocky has 13 troop types, and he's a Hocotatian. I think some of them should be taken out.

Dude he had like 50 in the old versions. Plus that doesn't make him any stronger. No matter how many types he has, pikmin are pikmin. Plus having many types mean he can have less of each type.

Actually it is a problem. The point of hocos is to have troops that aren't that diverse. If you want diverse troops be a wildlife.

That's not a problem unless he's going away from what Pikmin could typically do. But with thirteen types, that's fairly probable.

...One of the pikmin are sniper pikmin. They get amazing range with projectiles.

Pikmin are pikmin. If he armed the pikmin, that's all well and good, but at the end of the day, pikmin are still pikmin.
Now, from what I can tell, rocky's troops are not breaking the bounds of pikmin limitations. They're diverse, but that's not a crime.

I don't think having lots of Pikmin really matters. None of them are emulating normal wildlife creatures, and like Maka said, they're still Pikmin.

It is a pain in the ass for mods though.

Not really. Truthfully, Rocky doesn't mention all those types when I did his battle, just their general plans.

I think we should make it strict that we only allow the pikmin colors on the chart we already have. If you make don't stop it, this is fairly pointless. For example already possible:
Yellow Pikmin + Electrifiers = Anode Beetles Red Pikmin + Flamethrowers = Fiery Blowhogs Blue Pikmin + Hoses = Watery Blowhogs Purple Pikmin + Carried Boulders = ACBL (Pikmin that flies) + Claws = Snitchbug ETC.
This would make the game fairly pointless for Hocotatians. By the way, I had a long time finding rocky's thread, since he wasn't the last poster. How about we put the name of each person after his army?

Something we enforced last version and I had forgotten about for version, you need to put your army name before a thread. Like this:

I think there should be a limit of... ten troop types, regardless of whether you are Hocotation or Wildlife. Having modded a battle on SMKW, I know how annoying it can be trying to incorporate all the troops, especially if they all have different upgrades, different plans, etc.

I think Petrosian is right, in the sense that we should make the colors of pikmin more strict. Having the same color do different things for different armies, or different colors doing the same things, is well, odd. Furthermore, as we diverge from the path of pikmin, soon we may start to see God-Mods.
Furthermore, as tin said, it's a pain.
However, I'm not against giving pikmin different types of weapons. I intend to do that quite a bit.
