For example, maybe we should draw up a map of the whole world connected or something. Waterways and such could be connected, and so we could draw blockades on it and stuff to make it understood easily. Eh-fu-fu! Here's my suggestion (it goes along with the map). The whole world isn't flooded, but there's just a lot of water. Then the Hocos started arriving, more importantly, Hoco officials. Wanting to begin their conquer(ment? ing?) of the new planet, they established trade routes to help local civilians (read: armies) out. The routes aren't the quickest, but they are better protected than just sailing wherever. The likelyhood of blockades and pirate strikes is less likely. It takes longer to transport resources. This could or could not go with the multiple bases/armies thing. I think it is a good idea anyway, but, eh... Oh, and I made some changes to the map, if we are going to use it anyways. Big changes are the addition of land bridges between areas. I also added small streams; in a way that doesn't make any sense, they are shallow enough that troops won't drown (unless forced under) but boats can travel along them. I know, in reality, it wouldn't work, but... I added a large river through the Wistful Wild, and I took out a chunk of land on the southeast side of the Wistful Wild. I know, the map is missing some places (I know it is missing the Forest Naval, for sure). However, couldn't we do what has been suggested that the Awakening Wood is the new Forest of Hope, and so on? If not, I don't know if we could get those areas in. I kinda like only having five or so areas though, as it makes the game more condensed and if we are considering the "areas as nations" thing, it makes it simpler, I would think. Anyways, just pitching ideas here.

Cool. Can kaka get a map of the Wispy Willows out, or should i make one? also, could some armys be Port masters? My mind is swimming with possibilitys. "Nations" seems a bit way way. how about "Pikmin wars:Colonies" Or "Civ:1"?

This is smazing! Just a question though. Is the impact site on the map? It's small so I probably didn't notice it.

Awesome! I know that the Forest of hope is technically the awakenting woods, but I beleive that the Forest Naval was a cave under the forest of hope. You wouldn't need to add on to the map because you would enter through a cave in the awakening woods.
I give it 10/10

@ Hachi: I haven't worked on it in so long that I'd consider it dead. I have the attention span of a flea: if I'm doing something (if I was a fly, maybe eating a peach or something), and something more interesting comes along (like a rotten peach), I'll immediately forget about the first thing and move on to the second, more interesting thing. Keeping the metaphor going, after finishing the rotten peach, I'll look back at the other peach and won't be interested anymore.
@ Norb: Like I said previously, I was thinking we could go with the idea that some areas are the evolved form of other areas. However, if we want all of the areas, than we're going to have to get drawing.
@ Rocky: I took individual maps from GFaqs, and, through a somewhat long process, got this.

Maybe we could have areas from the first game bridge the gap in between wispy willows and the other areas?

Awesome. This'll help a bunch in the next version. I might try to remove stuff like walls and Burgoening Spiderworts and such to make it a little less like a game help-looking map, but this is just what we need.
Unfortunately, doing the same for the original Pikmin's areas will be...difficult. They're located directly south of Pikmin 2's areas, just so you know.

Do you think we might be able to incorporate this into this version of the game?
Not the multiple bases or nations, just the maps. It isnt' too much of a big change, but it makes the game much more tactical.

I might try to remove stuff like walls and Burgoening Spiderworts and such to make it a little less like a game help-looking map, but this is just what we need. No need. I can do it lickety-split! Well, it'd be easier for me, as I already have all the files and stuff, so... Incorporating Pikmin 1 areas might be complicated, though. I can see what I can manage, I suppose.

Here, let me try something to help.
Whispy Willows:
//////////////////////////////// //////////////////////////////// //////////////////////////////// ///////////////////////////////// /////////////////////////////// ////////////////////////////////// ///////////////////////////// ///////////////////////////////// ////////// /////////////// ///////// /////////////// ///////// OO /////////////// //////// OO /////////////// //////// /////////////// //////// /////////////// //////// /////////////// //////// /////////////// //////// ///////////// ///////////////////////////////// ////////////////////////////////// ///////////////////////////////// ////////////////////////////////// //////////////////////////////// //////////////////////////////////
The slashes are regular pikmin trees and thorns and bushes and stuff, and the circle is the Big Tree. You could just make all of that green or something to signify that there's a lot greenery and stuff there. Grass is everywhere.
It sucks, but that's how I pictured it.
Anyone can change it if it's unfair or too hard to mapify or something.
EDIT: Agh! When I posted it, it got messed up!

Or did you picture something like this: [-]
