Come to think of it, if we can build bases in places immune to naval units, shouldn't we be able to build bases in places immune to terrestrial vehicles?

but... would caves be immune to aerial strike and... something else be immune to sub-terrestrial strike? like... well, the great tree would be, technically.

We have to think of how we could work a river system into the game.

Yeah, but most bases aren't easily torn to peices like a raft would be

I actually chose the Whispy Willows because it was immune to terrestrial machines, for the most part. And I would imagine that the caves are big enough that planes can fly near the top of the ceiling.

We have to think of how we could work a river system into the game. Did you read the whole topic? And part of the reason to build aerial war machines is because they can go anywhere, in exchange for being weaker.

So do you see why we shouldn't have them? Or do you have a reason?

I think Meowzer is saying that it's possible, there's just an implementation hurdle to get over. If so, I agree. Still, when something hits this much resistance right off the bat, I don't think there's much hope, at least, not on the internet.

I'm not sure who, I think it was tinfoilman, but someone offered to alter the overworld maps and insert trade routes. Maybe we could do that but with river routs.
Or we could have shallow rivers run in between areas. Deep enough for a battle ship but shallow enough so a pikmin can't drown. The Forest of hope could be surrounded by several of these rivers that connect it to other areas, for example.

Deep enough for a battle ship but shallow enough so a pikmin can't drown. That's impossible, a Battleship probably goes down a Wollywog's length into the water...

well, the draft would vary from ship class to class... but the big ones would be deeper than a wog, if it were that small, it would be a scout boat or small sloop.
