I see nothing wrong with getting games from a generation ago (Or, at least, those on a handheld system. I still think it makes sense to buy things for consoles if they're last-gen). However, after that, since the games are out-of-print and hard to find, I think it's just fine if you use an emulator.
Also...my gosh, use Google. It only got 3.2 million creatures uploaded in several months from the demo that was released earlier.

Awww, Dumple; you just made me feel like crud because I got an Emulator and downloaded Super Mario World. How am I supposed to get an legitimate copy of that, and a Super Nintendo? Also, what is Spore? A creature creator game that you can use online, to interact with other civilizations, and awsome.

If all else fails, use Wikipedia.
Although I usually go to Wikipedia BEFORE Google.

EDIT: And can't you download that game from the VC?

Alright, two days. I probably won't be getting it for a little while, since I read that the actual gameplay is too simple. Still, it looks mighty fine.
(Disregard the Texasese.)

No one cares if you keep your name secret. >__>
Anyway, I'm still confuzzled about this whole not-being multiplayer thing. You can't interact with other player's civilizations, right?

AHA! He admits where he comes from as well. No one will ever know my real name! I have never made it a secret that I live in Texas. What do you mean by "As well"? Really, if you're scared to say what state you live in, you likely need to put a little less effort into security there. People, almost certainly, are not going to identify you out of several+ million people based on what state you live in. "Blargg! He lives in...Minnesota! It must be THAT GUY!" Oh, also, I lied. I live in Russia. I mean, I shouldn't go out and tell you all who I am, and all, but...
