I've always been confused about this rule. In the battle of Flaming Warriors vs. Dweevil Lunatics, norbertk got a large portion of the enemy petals. However, he would have gotten less if he had defeated the enemy entirely.
Why is it that you only get 1/3 of an army's petals? I think we should change that.

Well, the idea is that others are destroyed and it's just a general reward for beating them. However, in this case, having a "Narrow survival" deal ends up being more profitable...the idea is also to prevent those that conquer other armies from getting too powerful. See, since Norbert got all that money, he now just got a huge boost of 900 Petals and could probably just use what he has to waltz into the universal store and order a high-quality mine. He could very well grow to be the most powerful player in the game.

But he lost most of his attacking force, which was obviously quite large. Shouldn't that, in some way, offset the rewards?

Well, yes, but getting a mine is important; it (Mostly) erases resource worries of a type forever. It'll let him catch up later.

Yes, I know...I don't know who will do the battle, though. Maka would be a good choice, though, since he did the last one. This is just a raid, ten to one, so it probably won't take very long to write.
