So we're reading Anthem, picked it up when we were at the library with some friends.
We're about 40 minutes in, and almost halfway through.
We think the forbidden word is either I or Why. Don't tell us if we're right or wrong though!

It's Napoleon. Why? Because he makes everything better!

Well, I finished the book about ten minutes after posting that last post. It just looked larger cuz it had two seperate versions in one.
This is why I dislike, sometimes, small books and that I read fast. If you read a book in one sitting, it seems unimportant. Or something.

I read it in one sitting, am I think it is extremely important. It is a book against communism and a first step toward a new ideal, that being objectivism. It's simplicity is what I loved about it. It didn't need elaborations about setting, characters, or dialog. It made every word as important as the last. Sometimes you read books and you skip paragraphs because they don't appear to really say anything that advances the storyline or your understanding of the story. Because of it's intelligence I think it's size was fairly acceptable. I do agree though that smaller novels do seem less...

Animal Farm is honestly one of my favorite books, beaten only by 1984, which is by the same author. I cry every time I reread it (and I do often) and Boxer dies.
